Two modes built on the same architecture.
Dictation is what most clinicians use first: open the browser after a session and say what happened while the text appears, ready to edit before it leaves the page. Live transcription is opt-in, with the consenting client, and gives you a transcript that is then de-identified and drafted into a note in your approach. Both modes send audio direct from your browser, never through Cogent's servers.

Consent first.
Per-client consent is set inside the client folder, and live transcription cannot start until that consent has been recorded, with a printable consent template available on the For clients page if you would rather sign on paper before opening the browser.

Audio leaves the browser only to the speech-to-text service.
The connection is browser-to-Dublin direct, with Cogent's own servers not in that path at all, and the provider is contractually opted out of using audio or transcripts to train any model.

Audio is not stored, and only the transcript text comes back.
The provider returns text, and the audio itself is processed in flight and discarded once the transcript has been produced.

Transcript is stored encrypted at rest in the UK.
The transcript is stored encrypted at rest on Cogent's UK servers, with access tightly controlled and logged, and it is never used to train any external model or sold to anyone.

Starter includes five hours a month and Professional twenty-five; hit the cap and the session stops cleanly with the transcript saved. Overage on Professional is opt-in at £0.04 per minute, so nobody gets a surprise bill. Transcripts stay under the client folder, encrypted in the UK, until you delete them.
